Wr. Neustadt, Austria, September 22, 2023 – SPiN and ENPULSION signed a contract to deliver ENPULSION’s Engineering Models to support SPiN’s effort to design and develop a Modular Avionics Test Bench on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA). Historically, satellite components and subsystems were highly customized, with no standardized assembly. Therefore, SPiN aims to transform satellites into modular systems: a service to design satellites in a flexible concept. The new Modular Avionics Test Bench SPiN’s Modular Avionics Test Bench will be composed of 3 mock satellites, which will have their subsystems (ADCS, Comms, EPS…) provided by various suppliers and connected to SPiN’s MA61C board through multiple interfaces to further map and test the interface compatibility of Cubesats and Smallsats avionics components in Europe. The objectives of this project are: 80% – Increase compatibility to supplier market 50% – Experience with possible customer configuration 30% – Reduce development and assembly time The ENPULSION Thruster Simulator Suite On a similar note, ENPULSION only recently added a whole suite of simulator and emulator products to their product range, which offer satellite manufacturers and satellite operators testing capabilities for ENPULSION thrusters and satellite hardware, including thermal and load simulation, error injection and telemetry replay – across all program phases from initial concepts and design phases to technology development, integration, and operation all the way to end of mission. Our fully integrated propulsion systems offer a lot of modularity in themselves, as they can easily be clustered. This is why we are happy to support SPiN in their efforts to offer modularity as a service also for other components and subsystems.” – said Alexander Reissner, CEO & Founder of ENPULSION “Our team was looking for a European provider for a responsive attitude control and have chosen ENPULSION for the product experience, recommendations from other stakeholders including the European Space Agency (ESA) and value for money the Enpulsion system provides for our customers for the modularity as a service concept. “ – said Ran Qedar, CEO of SPiN About SPiN SPiN is a leading provider of modularity solutions for the space sector, offering satellite integration solutions to transform satellites into modular systems: a service to design satellites in a flexible concept using model-based system engineering methodology and a plug-and-play adapter, the MA61C intelligent data node. Founded in 2015 after winning first prize at Startup Weekend Space in Bremen, they offer smart, innovative services to space ventures worldwide today. The company enables manufacturers to integrate components and subsystems efficiently and cheaply in a modular concept, empowering satellite manufacturers to spend high-value time and money where it counts: pursuing new ventures.
