This summer our team was joined by several motivated young interns, who assisted our Engineering and Production departments in various tasks and also worked on their own projects. To allow you to gain a bit of insight into what an internship at ENPULSION might look like we are happy to share the following interview with our summer intern Sebastian with you, who supported both our CTO David Krejci and our Production team over the course of 8 weeks.

Hello! Would you mind introducing yourself?

Sebastian: Hi,  my name is Sebastian, I’m 21 years old and I’m studying technical physics at  TU Wien. This summer I had the chance to work at ENPULSION as an intern, where I gained experience in working at a young company and learnt a lot about satellite propulsion technology.

Glad to hear you Enjoyed your time here. But what brought you to ENPULSION?

Sebastian: I’ve always been interested in the subjects of space and spaceflight technology. When I heard about ENPULSION and their products, it was clear to me that I wanted to work here and be part of a company, which specializes in exactly these subjects.

What were your Main Responsibilities during your Internship?

Sebastian: Primarily I was doing a research project about various technologies in satellite propulsion, their strengths and weaknesses, similarities and differences and about products which are based on these technologies. Also, I got a chance to learn about the production process and helped with the manufacturing of the thrusters.

What did you enjoy most about your Time at ENPULSION?

Sebastian: I really liked the work environment at ENPULSION. Not only was everyone very nice, but the whole team was solution-oriented. Any problem or obstacle could be openly discussed and thus solved.

Your favorite Moment?

Sebastian: The most impressive moment for me was to witness the assembly process of a thruster. To finally see the whole propulsion unit finished and in one piece after all the different production steps is really cool, especially if you know how many hours of work and testing are needed.

Any Adivce for future Interns?

Sebastian: My advice for future interns (especially for the ones working in production): a cool head and a calm hand.
