Meet Dr. Alexander Reissner

About Alexander

Alexander Reissner is the founder and CEO of Enpulsion, leading with a deep background in electric propulsion and a career shaped by innovation in the European space industry. He began his work in aerospace at RUAG Space, contributing to major missions like Sentinel and BepiColombo in both thermal and mechanical engineering roles.

He later joined the Austrian Institute of Technology, where he led the Electric Propulsion Systems team before taking over as head of the Aerospace Engineering Department at FOTEC. Under his leadership, the department grew from five to seventeen scientists and engineers, laying the groundwork for ENPULSION’s founding in 2016. Recognizing the unique potential of FEEP technology in the emerging SmallSat market, Alexander launched ENPULSION to bring scalable, high-performance propulsion to a new generation of spacecraft.

He holds a Dipl.-Ing. (MSc) in Physics from the Technical University of Vienna and completed his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Dresden after studying at KAIST in South Korea. In 2019, he served as General Chair of the International Electric Propulsion Conference (IEPC), hosted in Vienna.
